Pay attention that nobody is reading over your shoulder since I will reveal to you the secret about the sweetest place on Adriatic coast… The little village called Broce. It is situated on the peninsula Peljesac in Croatia.
I’m a morning person; I love to wake up early to take my dog for a walk, to feel the peace and to greet the sun. This is the view we (my dog and me) enjoy first:
After a very short walk we notice the sun, it is timid at first, and those are the moments we enjoy the most:
Stillness is touching my heart and I am letting go of all the thoughts that bother me, and I feel stronger. Every day is a new beginning, be kind to yourself.
After we leave the village, on the opposite side is a divine house that I just like to look at:
Look at that! What do you say? Would you rather live in it, or across from it? I can’t decide… I will have to visit it to check out the view from inside the house.
A little further from the village, towards the small town Ston, is another amazing view of the Ston walls:
The walls of Ston are the second largest in the world,
right after the Great Wall of China. They welcome you to walk on them, which I
did, later in the afternoon, the best exercise in the world.
I put on my Watermelonski tunic:
I took a big bottle of water and headed off to the walls.
The first few stairs to the tower are not
demanding; however, I took my time and climbed slowly. Here is the picture of
what I saw while climbing to the first tower of the walls:
After reaching the first tower I took a short break and snapped a picture of Ston:

Those squares in the sea, do you know what that is? Try to guess… yes, you are right! It’s Europe’s oldest salt farm!
I passed the second tower and continued further. The biggest challenge was behind me (I hope!) I almost left my rapidly beating heart on those stairs and, I confess, I may have had to sit down half way and take a short break:
Hmm… those stairs don’t look so bad now… grrrr…
Just to emphasize, those are very steep stairs, obviously! Otherwise I surely wouldn’t look like a slightly sweaty, but still very stylish, beet red beauty after getting all the way up. I look like I’m having fun, right?
Oh, that tunic is perfect! Looking stylish!
Now the easy part of the walls was in front of me. I was so completely thrilled about that; I forgot to find a geocache hidden in one of the towers. Maybe next time…
I was climbing down, to Mali Ston which, by the way, boasts the best oysters in the world. They have been doing it a while. Since ancient times, in fact, and legend has it the oysters were ordered shipped to Roman Emperors to be eaten in honor of Aphrodite.
Check this baby out… baby=stairs:
And another baby… baby=me:
I was indeed very happy and proud of myself for hanging
in there. They’re organizing The Ston Wall Marathon in September...hats
off to all of you who will participate in it, hats off for sure!
